I’ve been using Apple CarPlay since 2017 and I think it’s the best and safest hand free system for cars. I installed all cars with Apple CarPlay and our newly acquired 2014 A5 Cabriolet with MMI 3G+ is getting one installed. There are many vendors out there, but the important one for me is that it must use the original internal microphone and not installed external aftermarket microphone.
This one is wireless, which it uses the phone Bluetooth and Wifi to control the CarPlay. This system is sold by Road Top on Aliexpress and it only took 8 days to get to CA from Hong Kong and cost $226.
