Lion 10.7.1 On Lenovo G770 i5 Sandy Bridge HD3000 Laptop

And always use portable drive to install before internal hard drive. For Realtek id 0139 card reader isn’t supported, a USB SD card reader is handy.

2012-04-05 The new and easier way to install Lion 10.7.3 is here.

After weeks of trials and errors, with tons of readings and editings, I got the Lion 10.7.1 on my Lenovo G770 17.3″ i5 2410M Sandy Bridge working. Here are the videos for software that can be used on this Hackintosh. I can say it’s 99% functional (the 1% is the SD card reader is not working).

Dual boot with Windows 7 using Chameleon

imovie HD is functional

DVD Player is functional (the reason for not showing the images because screen recording is ON)

VLC is functional with 1080P blue-ray mts movie (the reasons for stuttering is because screen recording is ON)

Miro is functional with HD TV

HDMI output with LION

Wifi and Ethernet are fully functional with WEP-WPA-WPA2-AES

Sleep works on both screen and hard drive

  • Thats awesome, but i can start any of the instalations disk iAtkosL1(lion) or iBoot with original SL disk, crash every time at boot, can you help me? my notebook is the same model as yours, thanks in advice

  • Hi, I ended up buying that laptop and got lion installed. I didn’t need special dp4 graphics kexts or anything and I am reinstalling to stop the stupid bluetooth keyboard/mouse thing(forgot to install voodoops2 before). The only problem I have is with the Atheros card. I have the exact same one you do with the exact same device id. I added the id to the IO80211 kext or something like that and it recognized the card and found all the networks around me but I could not connect to any of the networks. Did you use a special kext or something. Or did you modify your dsdt? If you used a special kext can you upload it for me. I have mine working 99% also haha.

    • Is your Lion version 11A511? I couldn’t get mine to work. Anyhow, congrats, I’ll upload the kexts I used in my Lion Laptop up so you can download. I changed so many times, I don’t even know which one is which. I know the latest one support all types of security wireless system.

    • Hey, I got it to work. I really don’t know why but it started connecting without getting internet. I couldn’t get internet on any connection (an open one, my neighbor’s wep that i cracked, or my wpa2), so I went through a few kexts. Later I was pissed off when the last one I tried didn’t work and I connected to that wep one and it worked. I tried mine, but it wouldn’t work so I said it to 802.11/g only and now it works great!!! I set up dual boot with windows 7 and can boot it in parallels also. Wish I had a 64 bit retail disk…. Oh well, 32 bit runs faster in parallels anyways.

    • Here is the Lion Atheros Kexts for both Ethernet and Wifi. This one will work with all types of securities. Are you using Easybcd to dual boot windows 7? I couldn’t get it to boot with windows 7 home 64 bit. Did you reformat the whole thing? Do you have 750GB Western Digital hard drive?

    • I sometimes had problems with dual booting with chameleon on my old laptop when I used MBR. When I used GUID on it the last time it worked first try so I reformatted everything this time. I also am not very fond of all the crap that lenovo installs on the laptop before they ship it to you. That enhanced boot makes up for all the useless stuff that they put on there anyways. Do you have “N” on yours or only G because I only can get g, but that doesn’t matter very much to me. Thanks for all your help.

PS Now that I have it working I don’t think I will try to use the kexts you gave me, as people say you don’t fix something that isn’t broken. I spent 10 hours following tutorials and downloading stuff and I don’t want to have to go through that again just for N.

    • Joel,
It’s not about the “N” and yes mine is connected in “N” mode. The problem if you don’t have the right kext, your wifi can’t connect to WPA2/PSK AES/TKIP and most of the free wifi are WPA2/PSK AES/TKIP. The kext I used can connect to all security types out there. That’s all. Check your wifi at starbucks, malls to see if it can connect to all these hotspots. Yes, if it works, don’t fix it 🙂
