El Capitan 10.11.1 now is a very nice Operating System from Apple. There are many Windows laptops that have the same architecture as MacBook’s, we can try to install them with this latest Mac OS X. To install the Mac OS X, you do need to read about Clover Boot loader and Dual Boot UEFI (because most of the new laptops now are UEFI booting). Another easy way is to buy a MacBook from Apple. If you use Mac OS X already, you won’t go back to Windows, that’s why so many people are moving from Windows to Mac. Anyhow, I have original Windows laptops, I couldn’t upgrade to Windows 10 because some updates failed, I found a way to update and it couldn’t activate, I talked to MS service person for over an hour, nothing was solved, then I found another way to upgrade to Windows 10, successfully. Now I have dual boot on my Laptop with the 2 newest and greatest OS’s, Windows 10 and El Capitan 10.11.1, but I haven’t booted in Windows 10 for weeks. Actually the Windows laptops with El Capitan seem to have less problems than original MAC.
- Apple OS X’s after Maverick are free for Mac Users to download, but you need to own a MacBook or iMac, you also need an Apple id to get Apps and buy stuff from iTunes and the Apps store.
- There are different generations of Intel CPU’s, the Graphics are different, the best laptops for Mac OS X SHOULD NOT have NVIDIA or ATI discrete Graphic cards installed. Some may be supported but most are not. The best Intel CPU and Chipset are the 3rd generation i3, i5, i7-3xxx with HD4000 Ivy Bridge, the 2nd (HD3000 Sandy Bridge), 4th (HD4400, HD4600, HD5000 Haswell), and 5th (HD5500 Broadwell) are also supported – the CPU models dictate which generation it is -2xxx, -3xxx, -4xxx, -5xxx.
- There are 2 forums that have all the information on how to get your laptops going:
- Insanelymac, and Tonymacx86.
Sample config.plist, El Capitan 10.11.1 Kernel, El Capitan 10.11 Kernel, El Capitan 10.11.3 Kernel, El Capitan 10.11.4, El Capitan 10.11.5.
