HP Elitebook 845 G7 Ryzen 7 Pro 4750u Review

I’ve bought this used laptop for $165 and replaced with my old 1TB NVME for testing. Specs:

1. 14″ screen, 3lbs.

2. 16GB Ram, 256GB NVME.

3. Ports: 2 x USB-C, 2 x USB-A, 1 x HDMI, 1 x Audio Port.

4. 65W USB-C charger + 53Wh internal Battery.

5. Realtek WiFi module replaced with Intel AC-7260.

This is quite a fast laptop and the battery does last a long time. In Windows I can play Youtub video for 3 hr 30 minutes and still have 47% left. Which means for someone to use on and off all day in school or work without needing charge. It doesn’t take a long time to charge from 47% to full 1 hr 10 minutes with 65W charger brick.

The keyboard is very nice and light touch with great feed back, back light keyboard is nice. The B&O speakers are quite loud. The trackpad from Synaptic is very nice. Although I couldn’t get the fingerprint to work for some reason, may be I turned off the secure boot in the Bios to boot with opencore 1.0.2 for my macOS Sonoma 14.7

The video decoding on this Vega 8 iGPU is quite fast, I got over 100fps with HandBrake.

The USB ports are very fast compare to Intel USB ports.
